Partners Andrew Baker and Daniel West have reviewed The Law Commission report on automated vehicles published this morning.

This report makes recommendations to the government and parliament on the proposed legal framework to be adopted, taking into consideration advancements in technology since the Automated and Electric Vehicles Act of 2018.

Authorisation of vehicles with an automated lane keeping system (“ALKS”) is imminent and we look ahead to fully automated vehicles and the implications for drivers and insurers.
