Catastrophic & Complex Injury

Having started his career in defendant practice, Gus worked as a trade union solicitor for many years before returning to defendant practice in 2016. He has significant experience across all aspects of technical and complex personal injury litigation, including liability issues in motor, employers’ liability and public liability claims. He has also undertaken clinical negligence work, including experience of brain injuries associated with birth-related trauma and/or hypoxia.

Gus has extensive experience in claims involving injuries of the utmost severity, particularly traumatic brain injury, with extremely high value settlements. He also advises on large and complex claims arising from polytrauma, less severe and subtle brain injuries, chronic pain, and cases in which fundamental dishonesty has been identified.

He has been recognised as a leading practitioner in The Legal 500. Reported authorities include Gaca v Pirelli Cables Ltd [2004] EWCA Civ 373 and Eaglesham v MoD [2016] EWHC 2011 (QB).
