Counter Fraud

Lewis is a Partner in the counter-fraud team and one of the firm's most experienced fraud specialists. He has spent more than 20 years helping insurers combat fraud through both strategic litigation and effective pre-litigation intervention.

Lewis leads specialist teams delivering both litigated counter-fraud services and HF's pre-litigation fraud offering as part of the firm's Third-Party Administration solution. Working closely with insurer clients, he helps design and implement fraud strategies that identify suspicious claims at the earliest opportunity, enabling cost-effective investigation, challenge and resolution before proceedings are issued.

He has extensive experience defending all forms of motor fraud, including organised fraud rings, credit hire fraud, low-speed impact (LSI) claims and late-notified claims. Known for his commercial and pragmatic approach, Lewis combines operational leadership with technical expertise to deliver measurable fraud savings and improved claims outcomes for insurers.

In addition to defending fraudulent claims, Lewis advises on strategic litigation involving professional enablers as well as pursuing tort of deceit actions and private prosecutions aimed at disrupting organised fraudulent activity.
