Credit Hire

Max specialises in credit hire, personal injury and RTA claims, and has over fourteen years’ experience working within the insurance law sector. Presently leading a team of 40 lawyers over three offices, Max is also responsible for developing training and strategy programmes for insurer clients. A regular contributor to the press on specialist insurance issues for titles including Post magazine and The Sunday Times, Max pioneered the use of the 2008 Regulations in respect of credit hire, as a result achieving insurers significant savings. Notable cases include Taylor v Chan (2011) which saw him win a case against unenforceable credit hire agreements. Most recently his team have run the successful Court of Appeal case of Akhtar v Boland (2014) and A Line Taxis v Ward (2014). Max is also Chair of the FOIL Credit Hire Sector Focus Group.
